The Boys' Home will accept the first 25 boys on January 26, 2012. May God bless this home and all people involved in its operation.

Many thanks to all the people who contributed to the success of this project in different ways - who actively participated in construction works or who supported it financially or by prayer. May God bless you abundantly. Yours is a treasure in heaven.

Please keep praying for "our" Boys' Home.

How it started and proceeded

All this started some 2 years ago when Fr. Anthony Saji received an instant inspiration to build an orphanage. He presented the idea to his local superior and then the major superiors allowed him
to begin the project. God provided the starting finance and also a nice plot with electricity and water
in Kayunga-Masaka (Masaka is the second biggest town in Uganda). On November 17, 2010 construction started. Within two months a house was built to provide shelter and to store material
and on February 3, 2011 the construction of the boys' home itself was started.

It consists of a dormitory, a refectory, a chapel, a study hall and rooms for staff.

The boys' home is meant for about fifty boys aged between five and eighteen years of age who come from poor families. They will be looked after here, they will get a Catholic education and preparation
to live a good life after becoming grown-ups.

Inauguration of a Retreat Center in Thika, Kenya

On October 9, 2011 a new retreat center in Thika, Kenya was inaugurated. The retreat center can currently seat 6,000 people with a possible extension up to 20,000 people. The main celebrant of the inauguration Eucharist was provincial superior of the Vincentian Congregation - Marymatha Province, Fr. Paul Puthuva.

How it started and proceeded

Thika is an industrial town in Kenya with 200,000 inhabitants located on the A2 road 40 km north east of Nairobi.

In 1999 a man donated a plot of 4 ha to the late Fr. Bill and to the Vincentian congregation and wished
a retreat center to be built there. His wish and the wish of the people from the vast surrounding area is nowadays becoming a reality. Even before the first brick was laid the prayer services took place on the plot every first Friday of the month.

In March 2011 the Vincentians started to build a residential retreat center where in the final stage
20,000 people fit into the retreat hall and 3,000 people can stay overnight in the dormitory.
The enclosed photos show the development of this project.

Thank you for your prayers and support. May God reward you hundredfold.
